English Conversation Program Facilitator – Join now!
Mondays 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Meet students from around the world. English facilitators assist international students improve their English conversation skills in a fun, casual environment through one-on-one pairings, group activities, and more! iClub
International Club (or iClub) is a UCI student club designed to bring together international and domestic undergraduate and graduate students through fun and constructive social events. Past events have included bonfires, hikes, Thanksgiving dinners, pub nights, and game days. The club has members from all over the world, and includes both UCI undergraduates and graduate students. Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)

Did an international topic spark your interest while abroad? Plan a faculty-mentored research project on your international area of interest. Opportunities are available to apply for research funding, for publication in the UCI Undergraduate Research Journal, and to present your research at the annual UCI Undergraduate Research Symposium. Global Connect – Teach global issues to high school students

Share your global spirit and new global knowledge with others as a global studies intern, teaching 21st century realities of global trends (immigration, wealth distribution), borderless social issues (AIDS, poverty, hunger), and current events taking place in the world today (e.g. Arab Spring) to local 9th graders. The Civic and Community Engagement minor gives you the knowledge, skills, and values to be agents of change in “your” community - whether you see it as local or global. Global Brigades is the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Student brigades travel to Honduras, Ghana, Panama, and Nicaragua to work in partnership with local communities to improve the quality of life in under resourced regions while respecting local culture. Teaching English abroad is a great way start a new career and gain global experience. Your adventures abroad continue when you complete the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate Program with UC Irvine Extension. Plan now for next summer. Our 10-week summer intensive program allows you to earn your certificate in a consolidated amount of time and gives you the quality training you need to teach with confidence. Valuable benefits include the opportunity for interaction with visiting international students, job referral assistance, and post-program staff support. Program starts June 20, 2014.
