Your Future is Global

Extend your international learning through Research – UROP
Plan a faculty-mentored research project on an international topic that interests you. Opportunities are available to apply for research funding, for publication in the UCI Undergraduate Research Journal, and to present your research at the annual UCI Undergraduate Research Symposium. Global Leadership Certificate Program (GLCP)

Graduate Fellowship:  Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program  Application Due:  January 18, 2013
The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program seeks applicants who are interested in promoting positive change in the world as Foreign Service Officers for the U.S. Department of State.  The fellowship is open to undergraduate seniors and recent graduates who intend to begin two-year master’s programs in the fall of 2013.  This program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need. Three UCI graduates have been awarded this fellowship in the past four years.  All three had studied abroad while at UCI.

Extend your international learning through Internships – UCDC
You've been abroad - now gain hands-on experience interning in a globally-focused internship.  Internships are available in virtually any field, including internship sites such as Amnesty International, Interpol, Center for International Policy, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Citizens for Global Solutions, US State Department, and many, many more! Minor in Civic and Community Engagement
Take what you have learned abroad and put it into community action and public service.  The Minor in Civic and Community Engagement gives you the knowledge, skills, and values to be agents of change in your community. Global Brigades at UCI - Service projects spring break and summer 2013!
Global Brigades at UC Irvine is a group of passionate student and professional volunteers who work on sustainable development projects in Honduras, Panama and Ghana.  Our mission is to provide long term solutions to problems instead of simply putting a band-aid over the issues.  Get hands on experience in the field in medicine, public health, water issues, microfinances and more.  For more information check the link above or email: globalbrigadesuci@gmail.com

English Conversation Program (ECP)
Every Monday, 4:00 – 5:00 pm, Weeks 1 - 10, beginning January 7, 2012.  
Meet students from around the world -- further your cultural insight, build relationships, and recognize the value of our diverse campus community! The ECP is an English improvement and practice forum which encourages English language development for international students through casual discussion in a friendly, fun, and casual environment. English facilitators assist others by improving their English conversation skills through one-on-one pairings, group activities, and more! International Studies Club
Come join discussions with peers and faculty on topics of international and global interest. The special discount price for UCI Students is $28.  Order at the Study Abroad Center in 1100 Student Services II by May 10th. We can only accept exact cash or checks. You can check out the sashes here but be sure to order through the Study Abroad Center in order to receive the discounted price.

Share your experience abroad with others

Are you tired of talking about your time abroad with friends and family and seeing their eyes glaze over? Below are some ways for you to get a captive audience and share about your experiences with people who want to hear it.

• Join the Study Abroad Center Returnee List so students interested in studying abroad can ask you questions about your experience abroad.  Click here to view the current Returnee List to confirm that you are listed and your information is correct.

• Join Us On Facebook  Show UCI students what YOU did abroad! Post your photos, videos, blogs, stories, and more on the Anteaters Abroad page on Facebook. This is an easy way to promote study abroad at UCI and could quite possibly inspire someone else to take their journey!

• Be in the Student Spotlight on our home page.  We would love to include YOUR story. Take a look at the short list of questions on EEE and respond to those that pertain to you. These Student Spotlights motivate UC Irvine students of today and tomorrow to follow in your foot-steps and make the life-changing decision to study abroad!
