English Conversation Facilitators – Earn 1.3 units   Enroll now!
UNI AFF 1B Lec U (86050)  First meeting:  Monday, March 28, 2011
This nine week course aims to teach tools and provide experience in facilitating English conversation for UCI international students and scholars.  Students taking this class will also learn about the world while serving as ambassadors of UCI and the U.S.

Summer Discussion Leader – Paid!  Application due April 6, 2011.
Seeking discussion leaders for University Studies 83/84-Pathways/Bridgeways to University Success, a course for new students who participate in Freshman Summer Start and Freshman Summer Bridge.  Takes place during Summer Session II.  The course is designed to help first-year students make a successful transition to UCI and develop strategies that will enhance their University experience.  Discussion Leaders serve a critical role in the success of the course and this is where you come in! MONEY FOR INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH

Global Health Research Travel FellowshipsApply by March 31, 2011
The Global Health Travel Fellowship for undergraduates assists students in conducting short-term disease-related research in international field sites. Awardees must have the support of a mentor at UC Irvine.  Three awards are available for undergraduate students.  The project should be completed during summer 2011, or one quarter in the academic year of 2011-2012.  Program guidelines and application instructions are at the above link.

UCEAP Research Award $1000Apply by May 2, 2011
These awards recognize undergraduate students who have distinguished themselves through their excellence in research conducted while abroad on EAP.To be eligible you must complete a final paper on your research by the end of spring quarter 2011.  More details at the link above.

Glimpse Correspondents Program – Get Paid to Travel the World  Application due June 15, 2011
The Glimpse Correspondents Program is for talented writers and photographers with a passion for storytelling and a knack for finding truly unique stories. The program is open to anyone who will be working, volunteering, or studying outside of their home country for at least 10 weeks between August and December.  Details at the above link.

UCI Summer Session Service-Learning Abroad – Volunteer abroad and earn credit!
Take an on-line course and participate in a service-learning project abroad.  Be a global citizen by contributing your energy on projects that truly make a difference.  Enroll in the on-line course about two months prior to the start of your volunteer abroad program.  Details on the web site linked above.

ISGS ClubCome join discussions with peers and faculty on topics of international and global interest.  Past topics have included:  Failed States and the Importance of the Nation-State in Global Politics; International Political Economies; Drugs, Crime and Gangs:  Are We Responsible?  The club meets every other Wednesday on even weeks of the quarter and each meeting features a different international topic.
