Important Information

International Opportunities Program - Study

The International Opportunities Program (IOP) is the link between UCI students and ANY international experience abroad that is not a part of the UC Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) or UC Summer Abroad programs.

    IOP Study Programs

Purpose:  Take courses for your major/minor/breadth/personal interest in almost any country in the world.
Credit:  Receive transfer credit and fulfill UCI degree requirements.
Finances:  Financial aid is available (including scholarships and loans; excluding work-study and UCI grants).

This page contains links to IOP programs that are affiliated with UCI and web sites that specialize in searching for the hundreds of other study abroad programs that are available to UCI students. All program details - such as requirements, program length, and costs - vary by program. UCI students planning to participate in one of these programs - or any other program abroad - are IOP participants and need to pick up the IOP Forms and Information from the the Study Abroad Center front desk!

The safety of UCI students abroad is of utmost importance. Read our policy (.pdf) on participation on IOP in countries with U.S. State Department Travel Warnings.

UC IRVINE'S IOP AFFILIATES

UCI's IOP Affiliates are study abroad providers (below) that have been recognized because they offer several program options which are not available through UC EAP, and past UCI participants have been satisfied with their experiences.  Selected program highlights are listed at the links below.
