The World at Your Fingertips
The World at Your Fingertips is an online resource designed to provide you with essential information
to help you prepare for your experience abroad. Preparation
is an important component of going abroad. The more you prepare, the
better off you will be when you arrive in your host country! This site
includes information that is relevant to participants of all types of
international programs.
In addition to
looking on the web, be sure to talk to real people who have been to
the country to which you are going! UCI students can access the Returnee List for contact information
for both students who have returned from abroad and international students
from abroad who are currently studying at UCI. These students are eager
to share their stories or answer any questions you may have about your
country and program. Many of the international students who are here
will be returning to their home country at the end of this year, allowing
you to make friends with students there before you go. Connecting with
these students is the perfect way to get an "insider perspective"
of living in your soon-to-be host country, and will make the transition
into your "new life" abroad that much more enjoyable.
If you are trying
to find a program abroad, check out the Study Abroad Center web site.
