VISIT GUIDELINES for Program Providers or Partner Universities

Welcome to UCI!

UCI’s Center for International Education is the main contact for UCI students interested in opportunities abroad such as the UC Education Abroad Program (EAP), UCI Travel Study, and all other programs - what we call International Opportunities Program (IOP) - IOP Study or IOP Non-Study.

If you are from an EAP partner institution abroad, you should contact the Center for International Education for details on how to plan your visit.

If you represent an institution, program or organization that is not part of EAP, then there are a variety of opportunities for you to promote your international program(s). Read below for details.

GUIDELINES FOR PROVIDERS:

  • It is very important that IOP providers do not directly contact faculty members, either for meetings or classroom visits. All contacts with UCI faculty regarding programs abroad must first go through CIE.
  • Send us the specific date in which you are interested in visiting. We strongly suggest planning your visit on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursdays in order to take advantage of the UCI class schedule and student presence on campus.
  • Let us know if you would like us to arrange for an outdoor information table for you on Ring Road (the most highly traveled area of UCI) anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. We recommend 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to take advantage of student presence.
  • Let us know if you would like to hold an information session and whether or not you will need a computer and/or projector. We recommend a one hour session sometime between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
    • Consider advertising in the UCI student newspaper, The New University. Check the web for submission details, prices and deadlines. To take advantage of the special on-campus department rates, let CIE know immediately about your interest in advertising as you will have to work with us to submit and pay for your advertisement.
    • Once you receive confirmation from us that your dates and times can be accommodated, you can make your travel arrangements:

Directions to CIE

UCI Visitor Information (includes campus maps, freeway directions, parking information, airport information, transportation information, hotel information, and more)

  • After your visit, we would greatly appreciate it if you could let us know about any UCI students that apply and/or participate in your programs. You can send this information to us via e-mail, phone, or regular mail – whichever is most convenient for you.

What we will do for you:

  • Once we hear from you, we will confirm that the dates and times you are interested in can be accommodated.
  • If you plan to have an information session, we will reserve a room (at no charge to you) within the Student Services II building (where CIE is located). Other rooms around campus may be available for a charge.
  • If you send us fliers (maximum 25) at least 2 weeks in advance, we can post those around the campus.

Go Abroad Fair

Institutions and programs that sponsor study, work, internship, volunteer, research and/or teaching experiences abroad and would like to be part of the UCI Go Abroad Fair and/or the complete annual circuit of October California Study Abroad Fairs, should visit this link for further information and instructions.

Don't hesitate to ask us for other suggestions on how we can help make your visit a success.
