Start your research for EAP courses here!

Researching for EAP courses can be fun and exciting! The method to use in searching for EAP courses depends on the type of EAP program you choose. EAP offers two types of programs:

Immersion programs
(or General Curriculum)
Special Curriculum programs
(or Special Focus)
Immersion programs allow students to take regular university courses at a foreign university

Special Curriculum programs offer students a unique opportunity to take courses in a specific academic field.

Language Intensive programs also allow students to learn a new language in its country of origin. Some language programs can fulfill first or second year foreign language.

Step One: Use the EAP Program Wizard to start your search for EAP programs that best meet your academic needs.

Step Two: From the EAP Program Wizard or from the EAP Countries page, access the specific Country pages for each program that meets your academic needs.

Step Three: Visit the Academic Course Information page.

Step Four: View the links provided for your program type.

For the Immersion (or General Curriculum) programs:

  1. Use the Coursefinder to view a record of courses UC students have taken in the past on your program

    • Note: Coursefinder is a historical record of courses students have taken in the past. Not all of these courses may be offered the term(s) that you study abroad.

    • If you plan on taking EAP courses to fulfill any major or school requirements, print out the course descriptions from Coursefinder to take to your meeting with your school's academic counselor.

  2. Visit the host university's website and search for updated courses offerings

    • The host university's website may offer course listings similar to the UCI Catalog and/or the UCI Schedule of Classes

    • Many host universities have course descriptions available of the courses they are offering for the upcoming academic year. Some university websites will also have syllabi available.

    • If you plan on taking EAP courses to fulfill any major or school requirements, print out the course descriptions and/or syllabi to bring to your meeting with your school’s academic counselor.

For the Special Curriculum (or Special Focus) programs:

  1. Visit the links available for your program

    • The Special Curriculum programs will provide a listing of courses available for that specific program (courses may be subject to change).

    • Some language programs will request students to take a placement exam upon arrival in the foreign country in order to be placed in the appropriate language level.
