Study Abroad for Educational Studies Minors

Why study Education abroad?

"The culture of the United States has been nourished by the arrival of new citizens from every part of the globe. For this reason, the nation's cultural roots are spread out around the world.  Traveling abroad not only deepens our understanding of the places we visit; it helps us to better understand the United States. This is especially true of future teachers, who will in their professional lives be called upon to help children from a wide variety of cultures find their own unique way of becoming Americans."

Making EAP Fit

Undergraduates minoring in Educational Studies have the exciting opportunity to study abroad and take courses that will count towards the minor. With the State of California growing increasingly multicultural, students interested in Education fare well in expanding their horizon across cultures. Review the steps and strategies below for suggestions on ways you can plan for EAP academically.

The Education Minor requirements best suited to take abroad are:
- take EAP courses in Area 4 of the Education requirements plus electives
- take EAP courses in Area 4 of the Education requirements plus major/breadth required courses

Note: These are only a few strategies that demonstrate how a student can study abroad and graduate within 4 years. There are many EAP programs that can be substituted into the same strategies. DO NOT LET THESE EXAMPLES LIMIT YOU. Please consult the EAP Program Search for more options.
