If you are interested in fulfilling UCI General Education/Breadth requirements while on EAP, below are a few suggestions on ways to plan. Since all students who go abroad on EAP automatically fulfill the Category VIII International/Global Issues GE/Breadth requirement, students can potentially complete 5 courses of breadth requirements in one semester abroad!

Keep in mind that these strategies are only suggestions and there are many, many ways to plan academically for EAP.

General Education/Breadth Requirement Strategies

All Students	One quarter on EAP fulfills Category VIII International/Global Issues. Generally, participation in other study abroad programs also fulfills this requirement. Check with your School’s Academic Counselor to confirm.
Strategy A	Term abroad taking first year language courses
Strategy B	Semester abroad taking Social Science & Humanities GE/breadth courses
Strategy C	Fulfill Category IX Laboratory or Performance by completing University Studies 197D: Study Abroad Experiential Learning in the quarter immediately following study abroad.
